State Representative Tim Ozinga to Host Diaper Drive

State Representative Tim Ozinga (R – Mokena) is hosting a drive to address the problems struggling mothers and families face in ensuring a sufficient supply of diapers to keep an infant or toddler clean and dry and healthy. Donations will directly benefit local mothers in need.

“In preparation for Diaper Need Awareness Week, my office is collecting diapers for mothers in need. Families cannot use WIC or Link to purchase diapers,” Rep. Ozinga stated. “I am asking residents to help me address this important need in our community to help mothers and children.”

In addition to diapers, the drive will collect baby wipes and diaper rash cream. In Illinois, Medicaid covers 52% of births, and 23% of families live below the poverty line. However, there are no government subsidies to help purchase diapers and wipes, products taxed at the highest sales tax rate.  Rep. Ozinga will collect diapers and other items at his district office at 11019 Front St, Ste 1W, Mokena, IL, from now until October 14th. Amazon delivery service can mail donations directly to the office.
